Nulo for Nali

I’ve mentioned Austin-based company Nulo before (Nutrition + Love, awwww!) but now that my lovable if slightly neurotic mutt Denali has tried Nulo (nulo.com), I’ve got more to say.

The bounty shipped quickly:

Two varieties of dry food, a selection of wet, and some treats.

Nali, as I mentioned, is a smidge neurotic. Poor thing is a ghetto success story, coming from humble beginnings in the junkyard to her cushy digs in Aspen. The dog whisperer recommended she eat corn-free food (corn acts as a depressant in dogs–and, arguably, in people), so I’m always on the quest for good food. Nulo is all natural, high in animal proteins and free of cheap grain fillers such as corn, wheat and soy, and are made without the artificial flavors, chemical preservatives and by-products found in most dog and cat foods.

Prices range from $5.95 for a snack pouch of Chicken Recipe Treats for cats to $59.95 for a 32 lb. bag of ultra-premium Lamb & Brown Rice Recipe dog food. All first orders include free shipping!

Nali loves Nulo! The wet food is her fave–she is not usually a food-motivated dog, but she can hear me get the cans out of the pantry and runs over to her food bowl, eagerly awaiting her can of Nulo. It’s amazing! She normally only eats one bowl of food, but she’ll eat two of Nulo if you let her! (The Vermonster did this, not me … and he got to pick up double poop)

Now, I do a lot of things to spoil Nali. I sometimes even let her get on the bed (don’t tell). But Nulo’s founder and CEO Michael Landa beats even me out by introducing a SimplyFit program for obese pets … he’s all fired up about the pet obesity in 51% of all pet households. “We have a pet obesity crisis that mirrors the human obesity epidemic in America. The difference is that dogs and cats don’t have eating disorders; people have feeding disorders.” (Um, did I just ‘fess to feeding her double?)

Nali is so lean and muscular I’m sort of jealous of her (and what a weirdo–jealous of my own dog?), but if you have obese pets, maybe it’s worth checking into the SimplyFit program. Otherwise, even healthy pets deserve super premium dog food Nulo, so try it!

One Comment to “Nulo for Nali”

  1. Ok, if you say so. :-) My Bella hates everything. My husband says she needs the right “aura” to eat her food. Puh-lease. We have her on Blue Wilderness and she’s doing great on it, but she doesn’t love it. She sorta eats it. (slowly over hours or days and sometimes not at all) Someone told me about this food today and since we’ve had her on everything else and I love Austin companies, we shall give it a shot. I talk to people all the time about not feeding cheap food so maybe I can add this company to my “try it” suggestion list!
    Thanks!
