Come see me judging delicious Grey Goose cocktails at SIX Lounge from 7:30-10:30, hit up that vegan cart opening at 6th & Waller form 6-10pm, or stop by Union Park from 5:30-7:30 to celebrate the success of the 2009 Austin Under 40 Awards, from which the Young Women’s Alliance Foundation will donate $17,500 to the Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps. The $17,500 donation from the YWA Foundation will allow 70 at-risk children to attend the Sunshine Camps free of charge this summer.
Other notables: Black Sheep Lodge (S. Lamar) is STILL sans liquor license, so they’re STILL giving free beer or margaritas with any purchase. Good deal. Aforementioned June bride who is turning 25 today will be celebrating tonight at Midnight Rodeo, the country dancehall that plays occasional rap and is affectionately known as Rope-a-ho by those in the know; their drink specials are pretty special: $1 wells, $1.75 Longnecks, and $3.50 “Almost Anything Else.” There’s a cover for men 21+ of $5 but ladies are free! Gotta love country dancehall sexism.
