311 and Snoop Dogg are playing next weekend (Aug 2 & 3) at the Backyard, and I just tried to buy tickets … Saturday appears to be sold out!
Sunday’s concert is at 6:30, so snag tickets while you can if you’re into the Gin-n-Juice.
Also, tomorrow night Future Clouds & Radar play at Antone’s. I covered them when I was at Austin Music + Entertainment magazine, and not only do they play some of the only garage band music I like (I say garage band in the best possible way, one that simply implies that they don’t have label clout or a particularly huge local buzz, although they’ve played some pretty big gigs), but they’re also genuinely nice to talk to.
The Derailers also play tomorrow night, free, at KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove at Shady Grove on Barton Springs Rd.
