A Play about Craigslist?!

If you know me at all, you know how much I love craigslist. I love the jobs, I love the apartment/real estate search, I love the groups, I love the activities, and most of all, I love the missed connections! So imagine my surprise, delight, and wonder when I read that there’s a play about craigslist!

Want to buy a couch? Find a date? Complain about your roommate? Your boss? Your sketchy neighbor that sleeps in his doghouse? Kidnapped by Craigslist is a unique new comedy that explores the carnivalesque, cult-like phenomenon that is Craigslist. Combining actual postings from the Austin website with scripted material, the show tells the true stories locked inside an online community that has shaped and inspired today’s internet generation.

The Blue Theater
916 Springdale Rd., Austin TX

July 10-26, Thursdays – Saturdays at 8pm

Tickets: $12-$25, sliding scale

Reservations: Call 927-1118, extension 1
To charge by credit card, call 474-TIXS or visit www.texasperforms.com

The play is a local adaptation of a national play: http://www.kidnappedbycraigslist.com. Seriously, I don’t even like plays.
