According to one friend (who is self-employed anyway, so I’m not sure what it matters to him), “today is like Friday” because no one has to work tomorrow. He’s referring to the downtown scene, of course. IS today like Friday? And will the rain showers deter anyone?

And please, for the love, DON’T DRIVE DRUNK tonight. Don’t drive drunk ever, but REALLY don’t drive drunk tonight. The aforementioned friend gets a hotel room downtown when he gets too drunk. Cabs exist, even if they might take awhile to hail. Then, there’s a relatively new service in Austin called ZINGO.

What happens with Zingo: Call 877 – OK ZINGO, a fully insured driver arrives on a folding motorbike, puts it in your trunk, and drives you home! Then they moto home. It’s significantly more expensive than a cab, BUT you don’t have to go fetch your car in the morning, and it’s WAY cheaper than a DUI. Fees:
$20 pick up fee plus $2 per mile plus tip
Students: $10 pick up fee plus $2 per mile (with student ID)
